I think I just love the challenge of coming up with different Memento Mori designs.
Often translated simply as “demons,” Oni are among the most recognizable figures in Japanese folklore. Their horned heads, sharp fangs, and fearsome expressions appear in myths, festivals, temple art, and modern pop culture. However, the symbolism of Oni extends far beyond fear and violence.
