"Worrying is like paying a debt you don't owe"
Our Worry Coin is minted from solid metal in the U. S.
Available in Bronze, Copper, blackened Iron & .999 Silver.
Mokume version is limited and will vary in patter from coin to coin.
Blackened Iron version does not have reeding (little lines) on the edge. Iron is too hard to make this happen but we think it works without in this case.
Approximately 1.25" diameter
Solid Silver option is 1 troy ounce.
The most remarkable thing about this favorite quote of mine is the simplicity and truth behind it. We worry almost constantly and there's nothing in this world saying that we have to. It doesn't change anything or fix the problem, but we do it anyway. We constantly pull from our bank of emotions and hormones to pay for this debt that doesn't exist.
A few years ago, I started manually machining various types of Worry Coins. They vary in metals, woods and sizes. Last year I had the idea that I'd laser engrave this quote into a coin but it was missing something and made these hand made coins even more expensive. I really wanted to be able to offer a more affordable version of a Worry Coin with this quote but, at the time, was not aware of Shire Post Mint's ability to create a concave surface on one side, so I shelved the project. A few months later, I saw what they could do with a coin so reached out to my favorite designer, Mike Major, and got to work. I couldn't be happier with the result. The size, weight, design and cost are the perfect balance and I'm sure you will enjoy.
Years ago, I helped my wife launch her brand, Gemma Raffo. A brand born out adversity and pain with the hope of helping others get through difficult times. Unfortunately, trying to run two websites became overwhelming so we temporarily shut it down with the intention of bringing it back "when time allowed". I've finally accepted that time will never allow so we are going to combine the brands and release products, new and old, here on the J. L. L. site.
This is a reintroduction of her first coin, The Passing Coin, but with a twist. A special edition CNC machined and deep laser engraved version. We will be bringing back the original soon but I was too excited about this version not to launch it.
The Passing Coin is just that, it is a coin created to keep for yourself and pass on to those you love. We created the Passing Coin as a symbol of love, strength and reassurance, and to solidify the everlasting bond with those you care about. I love having something tangible to hold closely, acting as a constant reminder that no matter what the current situation may be in our lives, our love is safe and can withstand anything life may throw our way. We can hold onto the coin during the darkest of hours, whether feeling alone and apart from those we love most, nervous about starting a new chapter in life, living thousands of miles away for an unknown amount of time, no matter the circumstance, the Passing Coin reminds you that someone loves you. I carry this coin with me wherever I go, whether in my pocket or in my wallet, I never leave without it. My girls carry one as well, which in turn keeps the bond and connection between us, and is a constant reminder that our love will never go away. I love this coin, it can be given for a thousand different reasons to a thousand different people, and whatever the circumstance, the Passing Coin’s purpose will always remain; No matter where you are, I am here with you, and this too shall pass.

I've had many requests for a sobriety coin I felt like there were many options out there and I don't like the idea of profiting from addiction. Recently I had a new friend share some personal challenges so I was inspired to design one for her son.
HOW THIS WORKS:
This coin is now holding you accountable. When you hit the next year milestone, contact us and we will replace it for free. My hope is that over the years we are losing money on these.
If you're beyond the three year mark, choose "more than 3" and write the year in notes at checkout.
STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY?

Anthony's story
I'm not a stranger to the addicting quality of drugs and alcohol. "Runs in the family" but I'd argue it runs in the species. Existing is a daily struggle and it's easy to look for a quick solution to numb that struggle. For most of us, it starts innocently enough with our peer group but evolves into a way to relax or a reward at the end of a hard day to a way to cope with daily struggles. The story may not be the same for everyone but it ends up being the same for everyone. To be clear, I'm not for banning anything but I do believe that drugs and alcohol are poison to the mind and body...but so is sugar and fast food. If you're the type that can have an occasional drink and have it not impact you or your loved ones negatively, go for it. I happen to be this type of person but it's a slippery slope. One drink a night for a few nights in a row and the struggle ensues so I cut myself off for weeks, if not months. I finished that sentence and walked away for a moment because I had to ask myself a question...if having a few drinks causes a problem of wanting it daily, what am I doing drinking at all? Some self reflection is in order.
In January of 2018, my dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer so I was inspired to make him something that he could carry with him during treatment. He passed in October of 2018 and I was going to pull this piece from the site but decided to leave it. I hope it can provide a bit of comfort to anyone in need.

A series inspired by Musashi's Book of Five Rings
from the Book of Water:
“If you do not look at things on a large scale, it will be difficult to master strategy.”
This speaks to the importance of perspective — not just in combat, but in life, craft, and business. Musashi reminds us that seeing only the immediate or the small picture limits our understanding. Mastery comes from stepping back, seeing the patterns, and thinking beyond the moment. It's about developing the vision to anticipate, adapt, and respond with clarity.
from the Book of Earth:
" From one thing, know ten thousand things." is a distilled interpretation of a central idea from The Book of Five Rings (Go Rin no Sho), specifically from the “Earth Book” (地の巻, Chi no Maki), which is the first and foundational scroll.
In that section, Musashi lays out the principle that mastery in one domain (such as swordsmanship) can teach you the universal truths that apply to all arts and strategies.
from the Book of Fire:
"When you attack, do so with a full and unhesitating spirit."
In the Fire Scroll, Musashi teaches that true strategy demands not only skill, but total commitment. This quote is a call to act with boldness — to strike with clarity, decisiveness, and conviction. In combat, hesitation breeds defeat; in life, it dulls the edge of purpose. Whether wielding a sword or making a choice, the principle remains: once the moment to act arrives, there must be no doubt, no delay — only presence and power. Fire moves forward. So must you.
from the Book of Wind:
"Fixation is the way to death. Fluidity is the way to life." — Book of Wind
In the Wind Scroll, Musashi warns against rigidity, whether in combat, thought, or daily life. To cling too tightly to form, style, or expectation is to stagnate. Like air and clouds, the warrior must move freely, adapting to the shifting rhythm of the world. This teaching is not only about survival in battle, but about vitality in living — to flow rather than to cling, to breathe rather than to choke. Life belongs to those who remain fluid.

The quote side is machined to a slight concave for that soothing, worry relief.
Why a Mandala? When linked to gratitude, mandalas remind us that everything is connected, life is impermanent yet beautiful, and that balance and harmony are worth cherishing.
Around 30 years ago my fascination with mandalas began when I saw a video of a monk creating a sand mandala. The precision, patience and time involved only to then wipe it away sits with me to this day.

This is likely the luckiest coin in existence. The all seeing eye is keeping it's eye on 7 lucky symbols; the elephant (raised trunk), a scarab, four leafed clover, horseshoe, a lucky rabbits foot, a wishbone and an acorn (who knew?). For good measure, I threw good ole lucky number 7 on the flip side.
The design is based off an old timey lucky penny that was made in the 1930's. The original design had some swastika's on it so was clearly made before Hitler ruined that symbol forever. I decided to replace them...for obvious reasons.
Deep laser engraved.

I think about this quote pretty much all day, every day.
The Enso (Zen circle) on the flip side symbolizes completeness, discipline, and the moment. It suggests mindfulness and presence in every action, no matter how mundane.
I'm hammering the edges (and my thumbs) by hand so each coin will vary.

If you don't make a choice, life will do it for you.
Decision Makers are fun and I'll keep making them but the reality is you already know what choice you want to make but you're likely paralyzed by the fear of making the wrong decision. This little "worry" coin will remind you to go with your gut and move forward with confidence. Make the decision and do what needs to be done to make it the right one. If it turns out to be a "mistake", learn from it and shift gears.

This is Lisa's design so here's a backstory and description from her...
This coin was born from my grief, and a long time coming.
I never found an image that held what I was feeling. Grief looks different on everyone, yet it carries a familiar weight.
Recently, I saw a simple drawing: a girl lying on the ground, her cheek resting against the earth. Beneath her, deep in the soil, the animal she loved rested below. It struck something in me, that quiet connection between above and below. Between the living and the gone.
Grief does not move out of the body.
It settles.
It becomes part of the bones.
Even seven years after losing my dad suddenly to an aortic dissection, it still lives in me. The sadness does not disappear. It changes shape.
Over the past year, working as a hospice nurse, I’ve had the honor of being present in the most intimate moments of life’s end, standing beside families in their darkest hours, witnessing final breaths. Whether death comes suddenly or slowly, one truth remains: loss feels surreal.
And still, the world continues.
People laugh. Traffic moves. The sun rises.
You carry something heavy while the earth keeps turning.
This coin represents that split.
The two bleeding hearts symbolize the divide between the living and the dead. One remains above the ground, still beating, still asked to continue. The other rests beneath the soil, returned to silence, to memory.
But they are not separate.
Roots connect them, just as love connects us beyond physical presence. What is buried is not gone. It moves through everything unseen: the ground beneath us, the air we breathe, the life we carry forward.
The wolves stand as guardians of that bond, half above and half below the soil, symbolizing devotion that does not dissolve when someone is gone. Grief exists in two worlds at once: the life that continues, and the life that changed forever.
Above the living heart, flowers bloom and birds rise, not because the pain has ended, but because life insists on continuing.
This coin began as a tribute to my father.
But it belongs to anyone who has loved and lost.
Because even when someone is no longer here, the connection remains.
The bond remains.

There are pieces you carry.
And there are pieces that carry weight.
The Bastion is the latter.
Handcrafted from solid 260 Brass, this single-finger form is wrapped in a coiling Japanese dragon — a symbol of protection, strength, and quiet authority. Scales rise along the edge like armor. Clouds gather in deep relief. The dragon encircles the center as if guarding what lies within.
The Bastion is built with deliberate mass and balanced proportions, designed to feel substantial in the hand — grounded, steady, intentional. The patina settles into the recesses, highlighting every carved detail and giving the piece the character of something discovered rather than manufactured.
Each Bastion is individually marked and part of an evolving series.
This first edition, the Dragon, represents vigilance and resilience — an emblem of strength carried quietly.
