My dad passed away from multiple cancers in 2018. In early 2018, I machined a "worry coin" for him and stamped Fuck cancer on it. He'd carry it with him during his chemo. I shared it with folks who then expressed interest so I had this more affordable version minted by my friends at Shire Post Mint so I could give them away. In 2019 I gave away almost 1000 of these coins but it got to be too time consuming and costly to do so I shelved the project for the time being. I'm not sure why it took me so long to come up with this idea as it seems pretty obvious.
I'll cover the cost of the coin if you can cover the cost of shipping. I don't mind folks getting more than one if they have a good place for them but please just be respectful and not wasteful but don't be shy! I want you guys to have and share these so please don't feel guilty about taking them for free.

Joshua Tree tales, part...whatever.
Memory is funny. I have fond memories of Joshua Tree from my childhood but if I were really forced to sit down and hash it out, my sister and I were bored pretty much the majority of the time. I had a daily checklist I'd go through...BB gun, hang out in the gully, Lincoln Logs/army men and sometimes Peanuts puzzle. Not actual peanuts but a Peanuts puzzle with a missing piece. No other puzzles...just that one. This little fidget is an homage to that box of Lincoln Logs.
I hadn't seen the box for decades but, after my Grams passed (and the tweaker/looters were done) we found this box. The photo is the same box from my childhood. It was under the bed in the guest bedroom for decades. I'm not sure whose they were but either my dads or one of my uncles when they were kids. I can't say that we were over the moon playing with them, just curing some boredom and getting out of the heat but the feeling of the memory gives me joy. I guess that's just how it works.
When I started going through the box, I was surprised out how fidgety the little connectors were. I then thought.."dang...what if I cut it in half and put some magnets in?". So I did and my suspicions were confirmed.

In my experience, goals go nowhere unless you write them down...which I rarely do. I end up doing this and that and getting some stuff done but I rarely truly accomplish a certain goal. I've been doing deep dives on goal setting, paradigm shifting, attitude changing and just plain ole' positivity and one of the main tasks is to write down your goal on a card, laminate it, carry it with you and repeat it to yourself at least twice a day. This round is mostly coins, some that are off center, some that I simply didn't like the final result, some start as testers so the opposing sides don't have anything to do with each other.

Around 30 years ago my fascination with mandalas began when I saw a video of a monk creating a sand mandala. The precision, patience and time involved only to then wipe it away sits with me to this day.

Just as you don't have to be Taoist to appreciate the meaning of Yin/Yang, you don't have to be a follower of Hermeticism to appreciate this quote. There are many interpretations but here's what I believe...we can get a pretty good idea of what's beyond just by looking around. You can also say that how you live this life is a reflection of what may happen beyond it. This is much deeper than a quick sentence but maybe it will inspire you do to your own inquiry.
On a different note...the detail I'm able to get from this laser engraver is blowing my mind. This is just the first of many designs to come.

These parts would go in a bag with the specs for the part and put away in a cabinet. After my dad died, I didn't have the heart to just get rid of these parts and figured that someday I'd make something with them. He had no idea what these parts were for but now they are serving as a base for these limited edition incense holders.
