15 years ago I started a little side hustle for my dad. For my dad, not with my dad. I truly had no intention of this being a full time thing, let alone, a 15 year thing. My dad was an old school machinist out in the middle of the desert so work had become few and far between. He had made a ring for me a few years before so I asked him if he wanted to make a handful and I'd build a website. The rest is history and, for some of you, beating a dead horse. I had zero idea that it would eventually become the "thing" that I always wanted. I wasn't a kid that dreamed of becoming anything but I did know that I loved creating and just hoped that I could eventually make a living without having to concede to the traditional five day a week tedium. That said, it never crossed my mind that this thing for my dad would evolve into my dream. He passed away almost 8 years ago so I'll never know how he'd react to such a milestone but I imagine he'd just give me that trademark snicker and say "pretty cool kid".
