A key shackle for the minimalist. The Shackle is cut from rectangle steel tube and measures 1″ x 1.25″ x .375″. Pin is hand turned from a solid bar of 1018 cold rolled steel.  After finishing with a blackening patina your key shackle is coated a black oil and steel wax to help prevent rusting.  The patina and wax will fade over time giving each piece a unique finish.

DISCLAIMER:  Do not over tighten the pin.  This may lead to stripping the threads.  Also, because The Minimalist is cold rolled steel it may rust a bit.  After weeks of field testing mine shows no signs of rust but I do check the pin occasionally just to make sure.  I prefer the look of 1018 steel over stainless and I feel it’s worth the extra effort.
